5-303: REGISTRATION REQUIRED, EXEMPTIONS 1 :
   A.   Every person, firm or corporation, before engaging in the business of plumbing in the city shall pay to the city treasurer a registration fee for the purpose of regulating the business, the sums as set by council by motion or resolution for plumbing contractors, journeymen and apprentices, payable in advance to be deposited in the general fund of the city. The registration fee herein assessed shall be construed to be exacted from each establishment or place of business in the city, and not from the individual employees of plumbing contractors, firms or establishments. The city shall issue certificates and receipts for all sums of money collected under this provision to the person, firm or corporation paying the same. No certificate or receipt may be issued until the applicant shows proof of possession of the appropriate state license. No certificate shall extend beyond the birth date of the licensee of any year. Any request for renewal of a certificate must be received by the city within thirty (30) days after the expiration date of the certificate, along with the required fees and proof of state license. No prorating of the license is allowed. (Ord. 1596, 1-25-2005)
   B.   Exempt from the provisions of this registration requirement are homeowners performing work at their residence, minor repairs and other exemptions as specifically in the state plumbing license law, 59 Oklahoma Statutes section 1017. (Prior code § 4-40; amd. Ord. 1405, 7-31-1996)
