A. All public water mains and all mains attached or proposed to be attached to the public water supply shall be constructed of PVC pipe or ductile iron pipe or both and shall be manufactured in accordance with the following standards:
1. Most current federal specifications published at the time building permits are requested, at the time any federal, state, county or municipal project plans and/or requests are provided to the city engineer or engineer retained by the city. Specifications referred to herein shall apply to both PVC and ductile iron. If specifications shall change after the projects referred to herein are approved, then the specifications used shall be those published at the time of approval. This subsection shall supersede all prior code sections. (Ord. 1707, 2-28-2012)
B. Nominal wall thickness, joint types, valves, fittings and appurtenances shall comply with the specifications in the city's standard specifications for water line construction as prepared by the local government engineer. (Res. 901, 5-10-1977)
