A. No change shall be made in the use of any land, building or structure until a certificate of occupancy certifying compliance with the provisions of this chapter has been obtained from the building official and the payment of such fee as may be set by the city council.
B. Whenever a building permit is issued for the erection of a new building or structure an occupancy permit shall be required prior to occupancy thereof; except for additions or alterations to residential structures and buildings accessory to residential structures.
C. In the instance of buildings and structures containing more than one occupancy the building official may issue separate certificates of occupancy providing all requirements of this chapter, including off street parking improvements, necessary for such separate occupancy are complied with.
