12-364: STORAGE AND PARKING OF TRAILERS AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES:
   A.   Commercial vehicles and trailers of all types, recreational vehicles and mobile homes shall not be parked or stored on any lot occupied by a dwelling or on any lot in any residential district or on any street or any street right of way within or adjacent to a residential district except in accordance with the following provisions:
      1.   Not more than one commercial vehicle, which does not exceed one and one-half (11/2) tons of rated capacity, per family living on the premises, shall be permitted; and in no case shall a commercial vehicle for hauling explosives, gasoline, or liquefied petroleum products be permitted; and
      2.   Recreational vehicles and boats may be parked as follows:
         a.   Inside parking;
         b.   Outside parking inside a rear or side yard;
         c.   Outside parking in the front yard provided:
            (1)   Space is not available or there is no reasonable access to either the side yard or the rear yard; a lot serviced by a dedicated alley or a corner lot is always deemed to have reasonable access to the rear yard; a fence is not deemed to prevent reasonable access;
            (2)   Inside parking is not possible;
            (3)   The unit is parked perpendicular to the front curb;
            (4)   The body of the recreational vehicle or boat is at least fifteen feet (15') from the face of the curb; or
            (5)   No part of the unit extends over the public sidewalk;
         d.   Parking is permitted only if the unit is:
            (1)   Not used for dwelling purposes, except one recreational vehicle may be used for a dwelling purpose for a maximum of fourteen (14) days in any calendar year on any given lot. Cooking is not permitted in a recreational vehicle at any time;
            (2)   Not permanently connected to sewer lines, water lines or electricity. A recreational vehicle may be connected to electricity temporarily for charging batteries and other purposes if the receptacle and the connection from the recreational vehicle has been inspected and approved by the city electrical inspector;
         e.   Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections A2c and A2d of this section, a unit may be parked anywhere on the premises during active loading or unloading, and use of electricity or propane fuel is permitted when necessary to prepare a recreational vehicle for use; and
         f.   Nothing in subsections A2c, A2d and A2e of this section shall be interpreted as allowing the temporary or permanent storage of a recreational vehicle or boat within the sight triangle as established in this code; and
      3.   A trailer home or mobile home shall not be parked or stored except in accordance with the provisions of this part relating to mobile homes. (Prior code § 16-36)
