12-321: USES PERMITTED:
   A.   Property and buildings in an A-1 general agricultural district shall be used only for the following purposes:
      1.   One-family or two-family dwellings for farm owner, operator or employee.
      2.   All agricultural land uses, buildings and activities.
      3.   Mining, quarrying and earth extraction industries.
      4.   Oil well or gas well including the drilling thereof.
      5.   Transportation, pipeline and utility easements and rights of way.
      6.   Temporary roadside stands for the sale of farm products grown on the premises; provided, however that up to one-third (1/3) of the display area for produce may be used for the sale of products not grown on the premises. The temporary structure shall be required to set back from the roadway an adequate distance to permit parking and ingress and egress, and shall not be constructed in such a location as would create an undue traffic hazard.
      7.   All the following uses:
Advertising signs:
         a.   One wall or canopy sign may be erected, not exceeding an aggregate surface display area of three (3) square feet per each linear foot of building wall to which the sign is affixed; total sign size is limited to sixty five percent (65%) of the total wall area of the wall to which the sign is attached.
         b.   In addition to the wall signs permitted above, outdoor advertising signs may be erected. One projecting or ground sign of 2.0 square feet of display surface area per linear foot of street frontage is allowed; provided, however, that if more than one such pole or ground sign is erected, an aggregate display area not exceeding 1.0 square foot of display surface area per linear foot of street frontage shall be allowed; providing further that no single sign shall exceed four hundred (400) square feet in area.
         c.   Ground or pole signs shall not exceed thirty five feet (35') in height.

Home occupation.
Kennel.
Library.
Municipal buildings and facilities, and public utilities, but not excluding storage yards or work yards.
Park and playground or public recreation area.
Plant nursery or greenhouse.
School.

      8.   Accessory buildings which are not a part of the main building, including barns, sheds and other farm buildings, private garages and accessory buildings which are a part of the main building. (1985 Code)
