(A) There is established within the Police Department an auxiliary or reserve police officer division.
(B) The auxiliary or reserve police officer division shall be a volunteer organization whose members shall be entitled to benefits under the North Carolina Worker’s Compensation Act and to any additional benefits for which the auxiliary or reserve police officers are entitled, including, but not limited to, any compensation as may be proved by the town through each fiscal year’s adopted budget.
