(A) A building permit expires if work does not commence within 6 months of its issuance. In these cases, a new permit shall be obtained to replace the expired permit before work can commence.
(B) Construction is considered commenced when work has begun to install the permanent pilings or foundation and is continued in a normal fashion. Minimal work on the pilings or foundation that is done for the purpose of avoiding a permit expiration is not considered as commencement of work.
(C) If after commencement of work authorized under a building permit, no required inspections are scheduled and conducted within any 12-month period, the building permit shall automatically expire.
