The Board of Commissioners shall be authorized to assign use of surplus items of furniture, including file cabinets, to county officials for county business purposes. Items so assigned shall remain the sole property of the county, and the official having possession to any such item shall submit to the County Auditor a receipt for such assigned item(s), which shall be returned to the county when no longer used for county business, or when said assignee no longer serves as a county official, whichever occurs first.
