§ 32.01  MEMBERS; ELECTION, QUALIFICATIONS, COMPENSATION.
   (A)   Election; term of office. Each Councilmember shall be elected at-large by the voters of the city at a regular election. Terms of office begin on the first day of January following the election and shall be for two years.
   (B)   Qualifications. A member shall be at least eighteen (18) years of age, shall be a qualified voter in the city, and shall reside in the city throughout his term of office.

   (C)   Compensation. The salary and compensation for the elected office of Councilmember, for the next elective term beginning on the 1st day of January, 2001, is hereby fixed and established at the amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00). This sum shall be received by and payable to each of the city’s duly elected councilmembers, annually in a single lump sum payment, under warrant drawn upon the city’s treasury and funds during each calendar-year of the term of office in the month of December, and remitted at the regular meeting of the City Council in the month of December.
