For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FEDERAL ACT. The sections of the Communications Act of 1934, being 47 U.S.C. §§ 201 et seq., dealing with cable television as amended by the Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984, Pub. Law No. 98-549, 1984 and by the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992, Pub. Law No. 102-385, 106 Stat. 1460, 1992, being 47 U.S.C. §§ 521 et seq.
FRANCHISING AUTHORITY. Any local government with authority to grant a franchise to a cable operator.
