Unless otherwise authorized by the city’s electrical departments, the meter base shall be located in a readily accessible location outside the building so that the center of the meter or top row of multiple meter installations is five feet, plus or minus six inches, above the finished ground level or projected walkway at that point.
(B) Meter bases shall not be placed under porches, carports or breezeways, over open pits, moving machinery, hatchways, in the path of falling water or where the meter may be subjected to excessive vibration or possible mechanical damage.
(C) The customer shall maintain ready accessibility to the city’s meter and equipment. The city may terminate or temporarily disconnect a customer’s electrical service if such access is not maintained. A key is not considered acceptable for containing access to the meter.
