737.01   DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
   (a)   “Ambulance.” Any privately owned, leased, or operated motor vehicle that is used or intended to be used for the transportation, upon the streets or highways of the Village, persons who are seriously ill, injured, wounded, or otherwise incapacitated or helpless, or used for administering emergency medical service to patients before, during or after transportation. “Ambulance” does not include a vehicle designed and used solely for the transportation of non-stretcher-bound or handicapped persons, whether ambulatory or confined to a wheelchair.
   (b)   “Emergency Call.”
      (1)   Any unforeseen event affecting an individual in such a manner that a need for immediate medical care is created. An emergency call includes all requests for emergency medical service requiring an immediate response and/or transportation by trained medical personnel or paramedics; or
      (2)   Any time an ambulance is operated within the Village when the operator or owner of such ambulance operates any or all of the following emergency equipment during such operation: lighting, sirens, horns, or other emergency signaling devices.
