1313.01 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter, certain terms are defined as follows:
   (a)    "Electrical wiring" applies to all electrical wiring, conductors, equipment and electrical devices used within buildings for the transmission of electric current for light, heat, power, signaling or any other purpose whatsoever within the City. However, the following is not considered as electrical wiring, only in that registrations and certificates will not be required: the replacement of fuses, lamps, wall switches, receptacles and sockets; the attachment of portable appliances to existing outlets; the repairing of appliances, motors and other devices when not attached to permanent wiring, the wiring which is an integral part of machinery, appliances, apparatus and vehicles, and other electrical wiring exempted in this chapter.
   (b)    "Electrical contractor" includes any person, firm or corporation who proceeds with or employs others for the installation, alteration, repair of or additions to any electrical wiring within the City under contract, written or verbal, expressed or implied, with the owner, lessee or contractor of any building.
   (c)    "Registered electrician" includes any person engaged in, working at or pursuing the trade of an electrician in the City, while in the employ of a registered electrical contractor.
   (d)    "Apprentice electrician" includes any person who is in the employ of a registered electrical contractor. A registered electrical contractor is entitled to employ one apprentice electrician under his electrical contractor's registration plus one additional apprentice electrician for each registered electrician he employs.
   (e)    "Outlet" means a fixed point on a wiring system from which current may be taken or each switch point, not in panels or on fixtures, or each ten feet or fraction thereof of strip wiring.
   (f)    "Fixture" means a fixed device attached to the wiring system, having one or more lamp holders. (Ord. 15-14. Passed 4-7-14.)
