745.10 SCHEDULE OF RATES.

   (a)    The rates to be charged by the operators of motor vehicles licensed under this chapter to transport persons for hire shall be fixed by the owner thereof immediately and the schedule thereof deposited with the Mayor, the Police Department and Council, and such schedule published once in a newspaper of general circulation in the City.

   (b)    Once the rates have been established pursuant to subsection (a) hereof, such rates shall remain in effect until changed pursuant to subsection (c) hereof, and no person being transported for hire shall be charged more than the established rates.

   (c)    After the rates have been established pursuant to subsection (a) hereof, any rate changes thereafter can only be made and take effect upon compliance with the following conditions:

      (1)    Thirty days' written notice of the proposed rate changes shall be given by the person, firm or corporation requesting such change to the Mayor, the Police Department and Council, and published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City at least three times before the proposed effective date of the rate changes in an ad of at least four column inches.

      (2)    Such proposed rate changes shall be approved by both Council and the Mayor. (Ord. 26-83. Passed 3-21-83.)
