739.02 INSPECTION REQUIRED.

No firm, person or corporation shall operate or race or permit to be operated or raced, any motorcycle, stock car, automobile or other motor vehicle until the same is inspected and approved as being equipped with a standard muffler of commercial manufacture, the muffler to be employed to efficiently muffle exhaust noises from the internal combustion engine of the vehicle. The inspection shall be made and approval shall be granted by the City Race Car Inspector. (Ord. 1917. Passed 9-8-53.)
