The members of the plan commission shall be appointed by the mayor and shall serve with the consent of the council. Each member of the present plan commission is hereby reappointed for the term for which such member has heretofore been appointed by the mayor and the city council. Successors to the members so appointed are to be appointed for terms of four (4) years. One member of the plan commission shall be selected as chairman of the plan commission. The chairman shall be selected after recommendation by majority vote of the members of the plan commission and shall be appointed after obtaining approval by the mayor and consent of the city council. The term of chairman shall be for a period of one year unless the term such member is serving is less than one year in which event he shall be appointed for the balance of his term as a member on the plan commission. The chairman shall preside at all meetings of the plan commission and shall designate a member of the plan commission to act as chairman in his absence. (Ord. 794, 10-7-1974)
