As used in this Code of Ordinances, “dwelling unit” means a detached building or portion thereof designed or used exclusively as the home, or residence of one or more persons. In the case of a mixed occupancy where a building is occupied in part as a dwelling, the part so occupied shall be deemed a dwelling for the purpose of this chapter and shall comply with the provisions relative to dwellings.
