§ 50.12 RECYCLABLE MATERIAL.
The purpose of this section is to reduce the amount of waste generated in the city by voluntarily disposing of recycable materials either through no-sort recycling methods or through separation of recyclable materials.
   (A)   Single family housing units are authorized to participate in the no-sort recycling unless authorized by the City of Dilworth.
   (B)   Recyclables must fit inside the recycling tote; additional recyclables will not be picked up by the contractor. The resident can either wait until the next curb-side collection or drop off recyclables at Dilworth’s drop-off location.
   (C)   The following materials may be commingled (i.e. not sorted) from the normal garbage, rubbish and waste material collection if the materials have not been contaminated:
      (1)   Newspaper. Includes inserts, shoppers, or other publications printed on newspaper stock.
      (2)   Magazines. Glossy publications less than one inch thick.
      (3)   Rinsed clear and colored glass bottles, jugs, jars; glass does not need to be separated from color.
      (4)   Aluminum, tin and steel cans.
      (5)   #1, #2, and #5 plastics without rings, caps or lids.
      (6)   Flattened corrugated cardboard.
      (7)   Flattened paperboard.
   (D)   The City of Dilworth will provide a recycling drop-off site for residents; however, the materials must be separated and accordingly placed into the correct receptacle(s).
   (E)   Ownership of separated materials set out for collection by the city shall be vested in the city. It shall be unlawful and an offense against this section for any person, firm or corporation to pick up separated materials for his/her own use, except the owner, lessee or occupant of a residential dwelling may take back materials set out at that particular dwelling.
