§ 150.01 ADOPTION OF BUILDING CODE.
   (A)   Adoption. The Minnesota State Building Code as such code may be from time to time amended, supplemented or replaced in the future, pursuant to M.S. §§ 326B.101 et seq., as they may be amended from time to time, and any Minnesota Rules thereunder is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference in this subchapter as if set forth in full as the Building Code for the city. One copy of said code as it may be from time to time amended, supplemented or replaced under the above statutes and rules shall be on file in the office of the City Administrator.
   (B)   Title. The Minnesota State Building Code, commonly referred to as the SBC and may be cited as such and may be referred to as “this code” or “the code.”
   (C)   Purpose. To provide uniform minimum standards regulating the design, erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, quality of materials, location of building, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the city.
   (D)   Scope. The provisions of this code shall apply to all construction, alterations, moving, demolition, repair and use of any building or structure including the components therein and including certain equipment specifically regulated therein, according to the laws of the state, except work located primarily in a public way, public utility towers and poles, mechanical equipment not specifically regulated in this code, and hydraulic flood control structures, within the city.
   (E)   Administration required. The chapters of the Minnesota State Building Code listed below shall be administered by the city in accordance with M.S. §§ 326B.101 et seq., as they may be amended from time to time, and any Minnesota Rules thereunder as such statutes and rules may be from time to time amended, supplemented or replaced. In the event said statutes and rules require in the future any of the below chapters to be deleted or additional chapters to be added, such chapters shall automatically be deleted from or added to this chapter and administered by the city accordingly:
      (1)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1300 - Administration of the Minnesota State Building Code;
      (2)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1301 - Building Official Certification;
      (3)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1302 - State Building Code Construction Approvals;
      (4)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1303 - Minnesota Provisions;
      (5)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1305 - Adoption of the 2000 International Building Code;
      (6)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1307 - Elevators and Related Devices;
      (7)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1309 - Adoption of the International Residential Code;
      (8)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1311 - Adoption of the Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings;
      (9)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1315 - Adoption of the National Electrical Code;
      (10)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1325 - Solar Energy Codes;
      (11)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1330 - Fallout Shelters;
      (12)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1335 - Flood Proofing Regulations;
      (13)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1341 - Minnesota Accessibility Code;
      (14)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1346 - Adoption of the Minnesota State Mechanical Code;
      (15)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1350 - Manufactured Homes;
      (16)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1360 - Prefabricated Structures;
      (17)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1361 - Industrialized/Modular Buildings;
      (18)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1370 - Storm Shelters (Manufactured Home Parks);
      (19)   Minn. Rules Chapter 4715 - Minnesota Plumbing Code; and
      (20)   Minn. Rules Chapter 1322, 1323, 1325 and 4215 - Minnesota Energy Code.
   (F)   Administration optional. In addition to those items listed above, certain appendices, standards and supplemental materials referenced as an optional part of the State Building Code are hereby adopted and incorporated by reference in the building code of the city as if set forth in full: Minn. Rules Chapter 1335 - Flood Proofing Regulations, parts 1335.0600 to 1335.1200.
