§ 8-1-8 TRUCK ROUTES.
   (A)   Definitions.
      (1)   (a)   NO TRUCK ZONE - An area comprised of all roads within the following perimeter:
 
No Truck Zone
East Main Street between U. S. Route 301- Highway 301 and MacArthur Avenue
West Main Street between Railroad Avenue and 11th Avenue
Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. between S. C. Route 9-Radford Blvd. and West Main Street
 
         (b)   Trucks, as defined in this ordinance, are not allowed in the No Truck Zone unless they are delivering to or taking on freight from a business located within the No Truck Zone or engaged in public service along such streets within the No Truck Zone.
         (c)   Further, such limitation shall not apply to trucks/drivers going to and from home when their residence is on a street which intersects Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd; provided, however, a permit granting permission has been obtained from the City of Dillon Code Enforcement Office. The permit shall be valid only when in possession of the applicant to whom it was issued for such truck.
      (2)   Truck - A vehicle in excess of two (2) tons in weight, having ten (10) wheels or more.
      (3)   Truck Route - Designated roads which trucks shall use to travel around the No Truck Zone.
   (B)   Thru Traffic.
      All trucks which are traveling thru the Dillon area to destinations outside of the No Truck Zone are prohibited from entering the city limits portion of the No Truck Zone. All such trucks shall instead use the Dillon Truck Route which is comprised of S.C. Route 57, Lockemy Highway, U.S. Route 301-Highway 301, S.C. Route 9-Radford Blvd., and East Main Street between Deerwood Avenue and U.S. Highway 301-Highway 301 of the city limits.
   (C)   Truck Making Deliveries or Pick-Ups Inside the No Truck Zone.
      Trucks are allowed to enter the No Truck Zone to deliver or to pick-up freight from businesses located within the zone. Such trucks must have a bill of lading which verifies the point of delivery or pick-up.
   (D)   Intra-City Conveyance.
      All trucks conducting Intra-City Conveyance shall use the most direct route from their point of origin within the city limits to their destination inside the city limits.
   (E)   Penalty Provision.
      Violators of any and all provision of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to the following fines:

   (F)   Separability.
      If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason, held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
   (G)   That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date permitted by law.
   (H)   All ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
