§ 6-4-5 CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
   It shall be unlawful for any owner, possessor, or person having the charge, custody or control of any animal, to cruelly drive, beat, ill-treat, wound, torture or mutilate, or to cruelly kill or abandon any animal or work the animal when unfit for labor, or to overload, or to deprive the animal of proper and necessary food and shelter, or otherwise to cruelly abuse, maltreat or fail to protect or feed the animal within the city.
