The management plan includes the following actions:
(A) News releases and related articles;
(B) Preparation of a wellhead protection brochure for local distribution;
(C) Notification of landowners within management zone;
(D) Inclusion of educational information with customer bills;
(E) Involvement with local school environmental science program;
(F) Posting of "Drinking Water Protection Area" signs along roads;
(G) Presentation of a request to county and regional planners, asking that the Wellhead Management Area be placed on planning maps as overlay zoning, and that the water system be notified when permits are requested for new facilities seeking to locate within the tab zone;
(H) Request the city and county to amend environmental statutes to include groundwater protection; and
(I) Ongoing coordination with Fire and Police Departments, emergency response, building permitting and inspection office, and county officials.
