(A) Grease, oil, and sand interceptors or traps shall be provided where, in the opinion of the Utilities Director, they are necessary for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable wastes, sand, and other harmful materials. All interceptors or traps shall be of a type, capacity, and design approved by the Utilities Director, and shall be located so as to be readily and easily accessible for cleaning and inspection.
(B) Where installed, all grease, oil, and sand interceptors or traps shall be maintained by the owner, at his expense, in continuously effective operation at all times.
