A. It shall be unlawful for any person to make any excavation in any street or alley without first obtaining a permit from the Village Clerk so to do. The person obtaining the permit shall then diligently prosecute any necessary work of excavation and, upon its completion, restore said street or alley to at least as good a condition as it was prior to such excavation being made, at his expense.
B. No person shall wilfully dig up, excavate, or injure or deface any street or sidewalk upon the streets or alleys of the Village. (1945 Code § 16-7; amd. 2017 Code)
