15-216: WEIGHT AND SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN STREETS AND ROADS:
   A.   Regulation Of Vehicles Exceeding Certain Weights On Specific Streets:
      1.   It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicles or trucks on streets and roads within the corporate limits of Dickson, Oklahoma, when the individual gross vehicle weight rating of said vehicles exceeds seven (7) tons, or fourteen thousand (14,000) pounds. It shall further be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle, including commercial trucks, on all remaining roadways and streets within the Town of Dickson, Oklahoma, Town limits, except Dogwood Road, Dickson Road, Provence Road and Red Cedar Road, when the individual gross vehicle weight rating of said vehicles exceeds ten (10) tons or twenty thousand (20,000) pounds per vehicle. It shall further be unlawful to operate a vehicle or truck in excess of such weights on said streets or roadways, with the exception of Dogwood Road, Dickson Road, Provence Road and Red Cedar Road, except: a) for the purpose of making home or ranch deliveries or pickups; b) for the purpose of making home or ranch service calls; c) for the purpose of carrying out normal everyday farm and ranch operations, in which case such vehicle may be driven on Dickson, Oklahoma streets and roads for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the said farming and/or ranching purpose; d) where the use of such vehicles is necessary to carry out any duty or operation of a local utility company, including natural gas, electric, telephone, or television cable representatives; and e) any vehicle or truck necessary to carry out any lawful duty of the Town of Dickson, Oklahoma.
      2.   If any subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this section is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this section.
      3.   Any person, firm, entity, partnership, corporation or association who violates this section shall be liable for a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00). Each violation by any person, firm, entity, partnership, corporation, or association shall constitute a separate offense.
   B.   Speed Limit: A speed limit for all motor vehicles, including automobiles and trucks shall be set by the Board of Trustees at the rate of thirty (30) miles per hour for the dead-end streets or roads in the Town of Dickson, Oklahoma; a speed limit of forty five (45) miles per hour for all motor vehicles which have a gross weight rating less than fifty four thousand (54,000) pounds on Redbud Road, but vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of fifty four thousand (54,000) pounds or greater shall be a speed limit of twenty (20) miles per hour on Redbud Street; and forty (40) miles per hour, unless otherwise posted, for all the remaining streets and roads in the corporate limits of Dickson, Oklahoma.
      1.   The above limitations of weight and speed on streets and roads in the corporate limits of Dickson, Oklahoma, shall be appropriately posted by placement of signs on roadways, outlining the appropriate weight and speed limits.
      2.   The Board of Trustees shall have the authority and duty to take immediate legal action against any person, firm, entity, partnership, corporation, or association who violates this section by instituting a civil action in a court of competent jurisdiction.
