§ 154.42 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE - 2014.
   (A)   Code adopted. There is hereby adopted by reference as if fully set forth herein, that certain Building Code known as the NFPA 70: National Electric Code - 2014 edition, and as thereafter amended and on file with the Village Clerk, as the Electric Code for the Village.
   (B)   Copies on file. At least one copy of the National Electric Code-2014 has been on file in the Village Hall for more than 30 days prior to the adoption hereof and is now on file. The Building Official shall keep on file in his/her office at least one copy of the National Electric Code - 2014, which shall be available for inspection.
   (C)   Special provisions. The following words, provisions, and paragraph are to be added to the following designated sections of the National Electric Code-2014. These provisions supersede the requirements of the indicated provisions of such code.
      Article 90.6 Formal Interpretations: Add after last sentence:
         That any person, firm or corporation shall have the right to appeal a decision of the Building Official to the Village Planning and Zoning Commission. Means of appeal shall follow requirements set forth in Section 14.06, Appeals of Administration Decisions, of the Village Zoning Code.
      Article 100 Definitions-General-Authority Having Jurisdiction: Add after the last sentence:
         The Building Official shall be charged with the enforcement of the Electric Code as amended herein and shall be known as the code official authority having jurisdiction.
      Article 210.4 (B): Add after last sentence: All switches for fire alarms, burglar alarms, exit signs, and emergency lighting shall be equipped with mechanical lockouts to prevent an accidental turnoff of the circuits.
      Article 210.8(A) Add after (2): Exception to (2): Receptacles used for garage door openers shall be permitted to be on a single dedicated non-GFCI protected receptacle.
      Article 220.1: Add after last sentence: If required by the authority having jurisdiction, a diagram showing service and feeder wire sizes, type of conductors, calculated loads, area in square feet being supplied, and demand factors shall be submitted. Required panel schedules shall show connected loads, total connected loads per phase.
      Article 230.70-(A)(1) - Readily Accessible Location: Add after the last sentence:
         For all new residential, commercial and industrial construction after April 30, 2016, the primary service disconnect shall be located outside of the building or structure, at the meter bank and tamper tagged. A secondary service disconnect (optional) shall be located inside at the nearest point of entrance of the service conductors.
      Article 310.2(B) Conductor Material: Delete and replace as follows:
         Conductors in this article shall be of copper unless otherwise specified.
      Article 320 Armored Cable: Type AC. Delete entire article. Use not permitted.
      Article 324 Flat Conductor Cable: Type FCC. Delete entire article. Use not permitted.
      Article 330 Metal-Clad Cable: Type MC. Delete entire article. Use not permitted.
      Article 340 Underground Feeder and Branch-Circuit Cable: Type UF. Delete entire article. Use not permitted.
      Article 394 Concealed Knob-and-Tub Wiring. Delete entire article. Use not permitted. 
      Article 398 Open Wiring on Insulators. Delete entire article. Use not permitted.
