§ 35.01 CHARGING PROPORTIONATE SHARE OF ACTUAL COST OF EXTENDING AND COLLECTING PROPERTY TAXES.
The County Collector is hereby authorized and directed to determine the total actual costs to the county of extending and collecting property taxes on behalf of taxing districts wholly or within the county and charges each taxing district its proportionate share of those costs. The proportionate share of a taxing district shall be determined by applying the same percentage to the actual total cost of extension, as determined by cost analysis by an independent auditing firm, as its extension in dollar amount bears to the total extension in dollar amount. The resultant amount shall be billed to each taxing district after tax collections have been distributed to all taxing districts wholly or partially within the county. For purposes of this section, the term TAXING DISTRICT shall include the county.
