§ 34.31 INTERNAL EMERGENCY/DISASTER PROCEDURES.
   (A)   General. In the event of an internal emergency/disaster such as fire, explosion or other internal disorder, the fire and evacuation procedure will be activated.
   (B)   Fire and evacuation procedures.
      (1)   Specific duties for all county building personnel:
         (a)   Know the location of fire alarms in your area;
         (b)   Know the location of fire extinguishers in your area and learn how to use them;
         (c)   Know the fire exit you are to use;
         (d)   Remain calm - don’t shout “FIRE”; and
         (e)   Walk - don’t run. (Fear and panic can do more damage than fire.)
      (2)   If a person discovers a fire in the county building, he or she shall:
         (a)   Pull fire alarm;
         (b)   Call Fire Department (911) and give location and type of fire (if he or she has time);
         (c)   Bring extinguisher to area of fire for use;
         (d)   Close all windows;
         (e)   When fire alarm is activated, all heating ventilation fans are stopped automatically;
         (f)   Do not turn off lights; and
         (g)   Do not lock your doors, but close vault doors.
      (3)   Each department head or his or her designee should ensure that all windows are closed, the office is completely evacuated and the office doors are closed, but not locked.
      (4)   Routes for evacuation.
         (a)   Office workers and the general public will exit the building as follows:

         (b)   Office employees may need to instruct the general public which door to exit.
      (5)   Move far enough from the building so you will not be in the way of emergency response personnel.
      (6)   Department heads, or their designees, should account for all of their employees.
      (7)   Employees may return to their office as soon as the Fire Department and county officials have declared that it is safe for re-entry.
