§ 31.18 FALSE ALARMS RESULTING FROM AUTOMATIC ALARM SYSTEMS.
   (A)   Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      AUTOMATIC ALARM SYSTEMS. Any signaling device which is electronically operated and which automatically sends visual and audible signals over a signal line to be registered by indicators at a monitoring panel in a receiving terminal at the County Sheriff’s office.
      AUTOMATIC ALARM SYSTEMS - FALSE ALARMS. The activation of an automatic alarm system through mechanical failure, malfunction, improper installation or the negligence of the owner or lessee of an automatic alarm system, or of his or her agency or employees. AUTOMATION ALARM - FALSE ALARM does not include alarm signals activated by violent conditions of nature, telephone line interruptions, acts of God or other extraordinary circumstances not reasonably subject to the control by the owner or lessee of an automatic alarm system.
   (B)   Automatic alarm system-false alarm service charge. Any owner or lessee of an automatic alarm system shall be charged a service charge of $40 for each automatic alarm system false alarm in excess of two in any one six-month period.
