8-3-2: STREET AND NUMBER DESIGNATIONS:
   A.   Directional Streets:
      1.   North And South Streets: All lots or houses located on the north and south streets or streets running in a general northerly and southerly direction shall be numbered from the north line of sections sixteen (16), seventeen (17) and eighteen (18) or such line as extended in township forty one (41) north, range twelve (12) east of the third principal meridian in Cook County, Illinois, as a base line beginning with number one at said base line and increasing towards the south.
      2.   East And West Streets: All lots or houses located on the east and west streets or streets running in general easterly and westerly direction shall be numbered from the west line of sections eighteen (18) and nineteen (19) or such line as extended in township forty one (41) north, range twelve (12) east of the third principal meridian in Cook County, Illinois, as a base line beginning with number one at said base line and increasing towards the east.
   B.   Numbers Per Mile: There shall be assigned to each mile eight hundred (800) numbers, or one hundred (100) numbers to each one-eighth (1/8) of a mile on all streets. The even numbers on north and south streets, or streets running in a general northerly and southerly direction, shall be on the westerly side of the streets, and the odd numbers on north and south streets, or streets running in a general northerly and southerly direction, shall be on the easterly side of the street. The even numbers of the east and west streets, or streets running in a general easterly and westerly direction, shall be on the northerly side of the streets, and the odd numbers on the east and west streets, or streets running in an easterly and westerly direction, shall be on the southerly side of the streets.
   C.   Assignment Of Numbers: The director of community development shall assign to each lot or building its proper number and shall inform the owner or person in possession of the premises as to the number thereof at any time upon request. (Ch. 8 Art. I, 1956 Code)
