7-4-12: SPEED RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Speed Twenty Five Miles Per Hour: No person shall drive a vehicle upon any local street, boulevard or highway under the jurisdiction of the city at a speed greater than twenty five (25) miles per hour, except as hereinafter provided.
   B.   Signs: When official signs are erected at a local intersection or upon the approaches thereto or along local streets or boulevards or along portions of such local streets or boulevards, giving notice of a lesser or greater speed respectively than provided for in subsection A of this section, no person shall drive a vehicle through such a local intersection or along such local streets or boulevards or portions of such local streets or boulevards at a speed greater than is indicated on the signs.
   C.   Twenty Mile Per Hour Streets: It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle in excess of twenty (20) miles per hour on the following streets or portions thereof:
Bellaire Avenue from Ballard Road to University Street
Church Street from Bellaire Avenue to Potter Road
Dempster/Thacker Street from Lee Street to River Road
Fifth Avenue from Seegers Road to Golf Road
Fourth Avenue from Seegers Road to Golf Road
Maple Street from Touhy Avenue to Howard Avenue
Mason Lane from Busse Highway to Dempster Street
Oak Street from Brown Street to Harding Avenue
Prairie Avenue from Lyman Avenue to Potter Road
Second Avenue from Algonquin Road to Thacker Street
Seegers Road from Wiebolt Drive to Wolf Road
Sixth Avenue from Seegers Road to Golf Road
   D.   Thirty Five Mile Per Hour Streets: It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle in excess of thirty five (35) miles per hour on the following streets or portions thereof:
Howard Avenue from Wolf Road to Mount Prospect Road
   E.   School Zone: It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle in excess of twenty (20) miles per hour in any designated school zone, during school hours when children are present, and signs are posted.
   F.   Speed In Alleys: It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle in or upon any alley within the city at a speed in excess of ten (10) miles per hour. (Ord. T-14-97, 11-17-1997)
