7-3-15: RESTRICTED RESIDENT PARKING DISTRICT; MAINE WEST HIGH SCHOOL AREA:
   A.   Purpose Of Restricted Resident Parking District:
      1.   Maine West High School immediately abuts a residential district of the city of Des Plaines.
      2.   The high school charges a fee to students for parking in the school lot, resulting in students parking throughout the neighborhood north of the school, instead of in the school parking lot.
      3.   The increase in flow of traffic and usage of the streets in the abutting residential district constitutes a hazard to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of this abutting residential district.
   B.   Definition Of Encompassed Area, Resident Parking District: The area bounded by Forest Avenue at the north; Fourth Avenue at the east; Oakton Street at the south; and Wolf Road at the west.
   C.   Resident Parking Only, Eight O'Clock A.M. To Ten O'Clock A.M. On Weekdays; Resident District:
      1.   The following streets shall be "resident parking only, 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. weekdays" (within the above mentioned district, when signs are erected giving notice thereof):

      2.   Stickers will not be issued for this district. Residency shall be determined based upon registration of the parked vehicles.
      3.   If the resident has a guest that needs to use the on street parking during the restricted hours, the resident shall contact the police department and specify the license plates of additional guest vehicle(s). Permission to park on the street during the restricted time shall not exempt the guest from the observance of any other traffic or parking regulations.
      4.   Service or delivery vehicles whose operators are doing business with residents of the district are exempted from this parking restriction. (Ord. T-7-09, 7-20-2009)
