7-3-11: PARKING NEAR FIRE STATIONS, APPARATUS OR LANES:
   A.   Hydrants: No person shall park any vehicle or cause any obstruction, within fifteen feet (15') of any fire hydrant. (Ord. T-11-05, 11-7-2005)
   B.   Stations: No person shall park any vehicle or cause any obstruction, within fifteen feet (15') of the driveway entrance to any fire station.
   C.   Apparatus:
      1.   No driver of any vehicle, except cars of members of the fire department, shall follow within three hundred feet (300') of any fire apparatus responding to an alarm of fire, nor park within the block where the fire apparatus has stopped at a fire. (Ord. M-4-83, 3-21-1983)
      2.    No person shall park any vehicle, or cause any obstruction within fifteen feet (15') of any fire department automatic sprinkler connection 1

   D.   Fire Lanes:
      1.   Designation: The fire chief may require and designate public or private fire lanes as deemed necessary for the effective use of fire apparatus and/or emergency medical service vehicles.
         a.   All fire lanes required by the fire chief shall be a minimum of twenty feet (20') in width, and conform with the specifications of the city, and the national fire codes, and NFPA #1, section 3-1.1.10.
         b.   All fire lanes shall be signposted as fire lanes, maintained and legible, and free of ice and snow, at the sole expense of the owner of the property upon which said signs are located and at the locations designated by the fire chief.
         c.   All fire lane signs shall be of a city approved design, size and color.
         d.   Any curbs existing within the fire lane shall be painted with an approved yellow traffic paint at the sole expense of the property owner and maintained in a visible condition to indicate no parking.
      2.   Obstructions: Designated fire lanes shall be maintained free of obstructions and vehicles.
         a.   Whenever fire lanes are designated and required, it shall be unlawful for any person to block or obstruct, wholly or partly, any duly designated and posted fire lane. (Ord. M-37-86, 8-4-1986)
         b.   Any person convicted of a violation of this section shall be fined no less than one hundred dollars ($100.00), nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense. The imposition of one penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit it to continue. A separate offense shall be deemed committed during each day that the offense shall occur or continue. (Ord. M-98-04, 12-6-2004)
