A. No person shall conduct the business of hackman, cabman, or of operating a public passenger vehicle for hire unless the person shall insure each vehicle to be operated as a public passenger vehicle in compliance with 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/8-109 of the Illinois motor vehicle code.
B. Each person conducting the business of hackman, cabman, or of operating a public passenger vehicle for hire within the city shall, at all times, carry current proof of insurance. Failure to present the proper insurance certificate shall constitute a violation of this chapter and shall be grounds for immediate revocation of the license issued for the operation of public passenger vehicles within the city.
