Law enforcement authorities of the city shall issue a duplicate receipt for all money collected for redemption of vehicles. The original receipt shall be delivered to the person redeeming the same; the duplicate receipt shall be delivered to the City Treasurer on the first day of each month together with the amount of money shown on such receipt. The money will be deposited to the General Fund and used to defray the cost of administration. City law enforcement authorities shall keep a book in which a record of impounded vehicles is kept. It shall show as much of the following information as is available: the name of the owner, the description of the vehicle, license number, date and hour of impounding, location before impounded, date of service of notice, date and hour of release and the amount of fee paid.
