2-3-1: COMMISSION CREATED; APPOINTMENT; TERMS:
   A.   Appointments; Terms: A park commission is hereby created, to consist of seven (7) members, appointed as follows: two (2) for a term of one year, two (2) for a term of two (2) years, two (2) for a term of three (3) years. The seventh member of the commission shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years. The members of the commission shall draw lots to determine among themselves the tenure of their respective terms. After the first appointment, all terms shall be for three (3) years, so that two (2) commissioners shall be appointed each year. They shall be appointed by the mayor and the city council.
   B.   Compensation: Commissioners shall serve without compensation. (Ord. 934, 11-12-1996; amd. 2001 Code)
   C.   Removal: Any member of the commission may be removed from office by the city council. In the event a commission member fails to attend three (3) consecutive legally scheduled and advertised meetings of the park commission, or fails to attend at least fifty percent (50%) of the legally scheduled meetings in one calendar year, the commission may remove the member from the commission by a majority vote of the other members, subject to the approval of the city council. Any vacancy thereby created on the commission shall be filled by the mayor and city council. (Ord. 1022, 4-10-2000)
