931.21 PVC PIPE.
   The following minimum standards for PVC water pipe are hereby established and required for construction or replacement of water lines connected to the Municipal waterworks system.
   (a)   PVC pipe shall be made in strict accordance of the AWWA Standard C-900, be of class 150, and meet ASTM Standard D-1784, D-2122, and D-2241.
   (b)   Joints shall be of the bell-spigot type, with an elastomeric gasket and shall meet the ASTM Standard D-2672, D-3036, and D-3139.
   (c)   Pipe shall be blocked at bends, tees, and other fittings with class B concrete.
   (d)   Excavation, pipe, joints, testing, cleansing, sterilizing and other work necessary to install the PVC water pipe shall be inspected and approved by the Superintendent of the Water Treatment Facilities or the Administrator.
   (e)   Use of PVC water pipe within and without the corporate boundaries of the Municipality shall require the express approval of the Administrator and the Superintendent of the Water Treatment Facilities.
   (f)   Metallic tracer tape shall be buried directly over the PVC pipe and the Administrator or the Superintendent shall inspect the tape before the trench is backfilled. (Ord. 1182. Passed 4-18-77.)
