549.08 DISCHARGING FIREARMS.
   (a)   No person shall discharge any air gun, rifle, shotgun, revolver, pistol or other firearm within the corporate limits of the Municipality, except at such a location or facility exempted, in writing, by the Safety Service Director and Chief of Police after such location or facility has proven safety procedures and adequate liability insurance are in place. Safety Service Director and Chief of Police may rescind the exemption if they determine that the condition is no longer safe.
   (b)   This section does not apply when firearms are used in self defense, in the discharge of official duty or when otherwise lawfully authorized.
   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
