The Village Clerk, before he or she enters upon the duties of his or her office, shall take and subscribe the oath prescribed for other village officers, shall execute a bond to the village in the penal sum of $500, with such securities as shall be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of his or her office, and payment of all moneys that may be received by him or her, according to law and the ordinances of the village, which bond shall be filed with the Village Clerk.
