It shall be the duty of the standing committees of the President and Board of Trustees to keep watch of the affairs of their respective departments of the village government. They shall have the general management, control, and supervision over the works, and things ordered to be made or done by the President and Board of Trustees in their several departments, and they shall make reports to the President and Board of Trustees of whatever facts may be deemed of importance.
