The village hereby declares it to be the public policy of the village to eliminate and prevent discrimination, segregation, or separation in all places of public accommodation covered by this chapter, and to eliminate and prevent discrimination, segregation, or separation in housing, and to safeguard the right of any person to sell, purchase, lease, rent, or obtain real property without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or familial status. It is further affirmed that the opportunity for full and equal public accommodations, as covered by this chapter, and the opportunity for full and equal housing, are civil rights of every citizen.
