(A) It shall be the duty of the Animal Control Warden, any Assistant Animal Control Warden, and of all police officers of the village to take and impound all dogs, cats, or domestic animals that are in violation of this ordinance. In effecting the capture of such animals, the Animal Control Warden and any Assistant Animal Control Warden is authorized and directed to use traps, nets, or tranquilizer guns.

(B) The owner or keeper of any dog, cat, or other domestic animal impounded, as provided in this chapter, may obtain the release of such animal by paying the actual cost of impoundment, plus a fee of $10 for the first impoundment of a particular animal, and $20 for the second and each subsequent impoundment of said animal to the village. After such animal has been impounded for a period of seven days, the Animal Control Warden or the Assistant Animal Control Warden is authorized and directed to transfer the animal to the Humane Society, Champaign, Illinois, or other similar organization, for disposition.
