§ 2.28.090 CONTINUING AUTHORITY OF POLICE CHIEF.
Nothing herein shall deprive the Chief of Police of the authority to carry out his or her duty to properly exercise direct and indirect supervision over all management, supervisory, professional, technical, and clerical staff of the City Police Department, as set forth in the job description and pursuant to ordinance. The Chief of Police continues to have authority and duty to supervise and discipline officers as he or she deems necessary, subject to review on appeal of the officer to the Police Commission, as set forth by state law. In the event that a complaint is filed after discipline has already been imposed by the Chief of Police, any discipline already imposed must be withdrawn or offset against any additional disciplinary action taken.
