It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to remove or cause to be removed, any existing signs or advertising matter now upon any lamp post in the city, unless the person placing such sign or advertising matter shall remove the same within ten days from the adoption of this chapter, and to that end, the Chief of Police shall personally notify the owner or owners of any advertising matter or signs, to so remove the same.
