(A) Purpose. The purposes of this section are: (1) to establish and reaffirm the creation of a cumulative, non-reverting fund for the Decatur Police Department to be known as the K-9 #1 Non-Reverting Fund; and (2) to authorize deposit of donations and other revenues into such fund for the uses set forth herein.
(B) Fund. There is hereby established the K-9 #1 Non-Reverting Fund.
(C) Donations and other revenues. Past and future donations and other revenues raised for the care and maintenance of the K-9 police dog, herein designated as K-9 #1, shall be deposited into the K-9 #1 Non-Reverting Fund.
(D) Use of funds. All funds deposited into the K-9 #1 Non-Reverting Fund shall be used for the care and maintenance of the K-9 #1 police dog and shall be used for the purchase of necessary equipment related to the K-9 #1 police dog and training of the K-9 #1 police dog and the police officer assigned to handle the K-9 #1 police dog. Use of funds shall be dispersed only upon approval of a claim by the Decatur Common Council.
