(A) Purpose. The purpose of this subchapter is to establish a non-reverting baby box operating fund to be used for the purposes hereinafter established.
(B) Fund. There is hereby established a Decatur Fire Department Non-Reverting Baby Box Operating Fund.
(C) Use of funds. Expenditures can be made from this fund by the Fire Department, without appropriation, for the installation of a Safe Haven Baby Box and Alarm System at the Decatur Fire Station, for ongoing maintenance of such baby box and alarm system, for annual fees due under a lease and service agreement with Safe Haven Baby Box, Inc., and for any other related baby box expenses. The monies of this fund shall be dispersed only upon claims approved by the Common Council.
(D) Donations. Donations to the city for such installation, maintenance, annual fees and related costs set forth in division (C) above shall be deposited into the Non-Reverting Baby Box Operating Fund established herein.
