6.04.030: LICENSE; EXCEPTIONS:
   A.   The licensing provisions of this chapter shall not apply to dogs owned by nonresidents of the City unless such dog is kept, harbored or maintained within the corporate limits of the City for a period of more than fifteen (15) days in any one calendar year.
   B.   Seeing eye dogs properly trained to assist blind persons when such dogs are actually being used by blind persons for the purpose of aiding them in going from place to place shall be licensed free of charge.
   C.   New owners and new residents of the City may purchase licenses at the regular fees if the license is purchased within thirty (30) days of acquisition of the dog or establishing residence within the City. It shall be the owner's responsibility to show proof of the date of acquisition of ownership or establishment of residence within the City. (Ord. 180 § 3, 1968)
