12.04.060: PLACING OF PROTECTIVE BARRIERS AND SIGNALS; REMOVAL UNLAWFUL:
   A.   Any person digging, excavating or undermining any street, alley or sidewalk pursuant to a permit granted under the provisions of section 12.04.020 of this chapter shall place proper barricades and warning signs to prevent injury to persons and property.
   B.   The Commissioner of Streets shall temporarily fence off or enclose any portion of any street or sidewalk which, by reason of defect or obstruction, may be dangerous for the passage of persons or vehicles and guard all such portions of the street or sidewalk at night by lights or other danger signals. Such obstructions shall be maintained only for the time necessary to enable proper repairs to be made.
   C.   No person shall knowingly and wilfully remove, injure or destroy any barricade, fence or other danger signal lawfully directed, erected and maintained, whether by the Commissioner of Streets, contractor or other persons lawfully authorized to do so. (Ord. 205 § 3, 1977)
