(A) As permitted by I.C. 5-4-1-18, Dearborn County is hereby authorized to purchase individual surety bonds, blanket bonds, name or position schedule bonds, and/or crime insurance policies for County officers, employees, and contractors required to be bonded pursuant to I.C. 5-4-1-18(a);
(B) If Dearborn County elects to purchase a blanket bond, as permitted by I.C. 5-4-1-18(b), said blanket bond must:
(1) Be endorsed to include faithful performance to cover the faithful performance of; and
(2) Include aggregate coverage sufficient to provide coverage amounts for all employees, commission members, and persons acting on behalf of Dearborn County, including the officers, employees, and contractors described in I.C. 5-4-1-18(a) who are required to file a bond.
(C) If Dearborn County elects to purchase a name or position schedule bond, as permitted by I.C. 5-4-1-18(c), said name or position schedule bond must:
(1) Name each individual or each position covered under the schedule bond;
(2) Be endorsed to include faithful performance to cover the faithful performance of all officers, employees, and contractors described in I.C. 5-4-1-18(a) who are required to file a bond; and
(3) Include aggregate coverage sufficient to provide coverage amounts specified for all officers, employees, and contractors described in I.C. 5-4-1-18(a) who are required to file a bond.
(D) If Dearborn County elects to purchase a crime insurance policy, as permitted by I.C. 5-4-1-18(d), said crime insurance policy must:
(1) Provide coverage for criminal acts or omissions committed by;
(2) Be endorsed to include faithful performance to cover the faithful performance of; and
(3) Include aggregate coverage sufficient to provide coverage amounts specified for all officers, employees, contractors, commission members, and persons acting on behalf of Dearborn County and required to file a bond under I.C. 5-4-1-18(a). For the sole purpose of recovering public funds on behalf of Dearborn County, the State of Indiana is considered to be an additional named insured on all crime insurance policies and endorsements obtained under this section and I.C. 5-4-1-18(d).
(E) Any bond or crime insurance policy obtained shall be subject to all provisions found in the Indiana Code, specifically I.C. 5-4-1-18, which may be amended by the State of Indiana from time to time.
