(A) There is hereby established a non-reverting fund which shall be known as the County Hospital Remainder Fund.
(B) Any funds that are transferred to the county, following the conclusion of all business affairs, obligations, and outstanding liabilities of Highpoint Health (f/k/a Dearborn County Hospital) may be deposited into the County Hospital Remainder Fund and/or the County General Fund.
(C) Any funds deposited into the County Hospital Remainder Fund may be utilized to pay unknown expenses that may be incurred related to the settlement of Dearborn County Hospital (a/k/a Highpoint Health) liabilities to the State of Indiana for the non-state governmental nursing facility program, other state programs including, but not limited to, the Disproportionate Share Hospital Program and other Upper Payment Limit/Intergovernmental Transfer Programs, closure of the Dearborn County Hospital Pension Plan, auditing and accounting expenses for the filing of Dearborn County Hospital’s single audit and provider relief funds (PRF) reporting, and any other unknown expenses related to Dearborn County Hospital.
